Track by Track Review

Intro This instrumental is pretty. It has folk and classical elements and the symphonic instrumentation is a great touch. |
Old Screen More purely roots based, this has a good balance of lead and backing vocals. It's very folk music oriented. There is a short acapella section at the end. |
Searching For The Cure For Loneliness Country music is the main zone here. The vocals land more in the folk zone, though. Musically this has plenty of instrumental twang, though. I like the mix between those sounds and an almost alternative rock thing. |
The 49’r The energy and groove on this is great. It's a rocking number with plenty of style and charm. This has country music, alternative rock and more built into it. It's a run romp with a lot of style. It's one of the highlights here. |
Dreaming Of The Coast Soft rock, folk music and alternative sounds all merge on this effective number. |
So Well Now, this really feels more like an acoustic alternative rocker than anything to this point. It's fun and effective. The symphonic that comes in later brings some magic. So does the expanded vocal arrangement later. |
Leaving Will Be Hard This track is less than a minute long. It's got alternative sound and folk music in the mix. It's over almost as soon as it's started, though. |
Appalachian Mountains A slow moving roots song, this has a lot of alternative music, but it's merged with folk and country stylings. |
Winter Park More powered up than most stuff here. this is a cool rocker with plenty of country in the mix. It also has some jazzy things at play at times. This is another highlight of the set for me. It's just works really well. The rhythm section on this makes me think of Johnny Cash to some degree. |
Stolen Car Alternative rock with some jazzy instrumentation is the idea behind this. It's got a cool quirky vibe. It's another standout for me. The acapella section at the end sounds like children to me. It's perhaps the one misstep on the song, but it is short. |
Scattered Leaves Intricate and mellow roots based sounds are at the core of this number. It's not a big change from a lot of the stuff here, but it's very effective. |
