Music Street Journal Needs Your Help!

For those of you who have been following, Music Street Journal is in serious trouble financially. For those of you would like to help but aren't ready to take the plunge of buying a membership, you can make a donation. Donations start at $1 and if each of our readers were to contribute either with a donation, a membership, banner ad or sponsorship we'd be able to continue this thing indefinitely. Without your help, the site will be dying soon.
You can help out in all the above ways by going to the site at musicstreetjournal. com and hitting the "click to register" link next to the log in box. If you enjoy Music Street Journal and want it to continue, we need your help. Also, anyone who donates in any of the above ways will be registered to win in all our contests, so make sure you use an email address you have access to for your donation.

Welcome to the NEW ISSUE OF  MSJ!

The new issue of Music Street Journal is live and we've got a lot of great stuff on tap for you.

Music Street Journal's Blog

You can get lots more information about what's going on at Music Street Journal by visiting the MSJ blog on Myspace.

WE NEED YOUR SUPPORT!

I can’t emphasize enough how much Music Street Journal needs your support. For years we’ve been providing CD reviews, interviews, etc. for our readers. We’ve been donating our time and paying for the website to bring that to you. That means the bands that we cover have been getting publicity that we’ve been paying for – it’s free to them. That means that those of you who read the site (and there are twenty thousand of you every day) have been enjoying the content and we’ve been the ones footing the bill. That just can’t continue anymore. Without recouping some of that money the site is going to fail.

So, if you’ve enjoyed Music Street Journal or if your band has gotten coverage from the site, we need you to pay your share now. We’re not doing a “pay for coverage” approach as that really does a wonderful job of ruining objectivity in reviews. Instead we’re doing this on the honor system. But this is a case where if you don’t carry your own weight on your honor the site WILL GO AWAY. We have no choice. Without financial support our time is limited and we’ll most likely be gone before the end of 2008.

So, if you’ve enjoyed Music Street Journal at one time or another (and you are here right now), or if you have gotten free publicity from the site, we need you to help keep us alive. Here are ways you can help.

  • Buy a membership – they start at six dollars for a month and go up to 25 bucks for a year. And while this helps the site stay alive it also gives you access to a lot of exclusive stuff – see the video (under the log in box) for more detail about that.

  • Buy a banner ad. If you’ve got something to sell or a site you want to promote, we have banner ads for just sixty five bucks a year – and with 20k visitors a day – that’s a bargain. Email me at musicstreetjournal@musicstreetjournal.com for more information about this.

  • Blog about Music Street Journal or otherwise promote us to try to get your fans to support us.

  • You can also buy a sponsorship – email me at musicstreetjournal@musicstreetjournal.com for more information about this option.

We need your help and we need your help now. The honor system hasn’t worked well so far and we’re going to die without help.
