Finding Joseph I: The HR From Bad Brains Documentary DVD

Review by Gary Hill

How are reggae, hardcore punk and Rastafarianism connected? H.R. is a definite link in a chain. This documentary focuses on the man and the enigma that is H.R. H.R. came to fame as the lead singer of Bad Brains. Hardcore wasn’t enough to hold him in one place, though. He became a Rasta and moved into reggae music.

This documentary in some ways leaves the viewer with at least as many questions as it answers. Yet it really is an intriguing tale told through many interviews, live clips and more. This is a cool thing no matter how you feel about the music.
