Bryan Ferry
Live In Lyon DVD
Review by Gary Hill
Say what you will about Bryan Ferry, but the man has always been a very artistic individual and a great performer. I generally put his stuff into progressive rock, based mostly on the Roxy Music material, but there’s a prog edge (or at least and artsy edge) to everything he does. This set includes both a live performance from his Olympia tour in 2011 and a 42 minute documentary of the making of the Olympia album. Both are classy and quite cool. Ferry’s set consisted of tracks from his Roxy Music days along with solo material and his interpretations of songs by others. The onstage sound is so lush and dramatic, created by many talented musicians. The stage show with dancers and backing singers and visuals on the screens is awesome. It’s all captured well with great video and audio quality presented here.
