This single is so cool. As one might guess from the band name, these guys do Zappa music. They make it their own, though. This two-fer is a great example of that. If you like Frank Zappa and want to hear new variations on songs with which you are familiar, this comes highly recommended by me.

Track by Track Review
Side One
Bobby Brown
This Zappa reworking has a lot of crazy sounds built into it. They really create some intriguing sounds and textures. This is a big change from the Zappa version. It has a lot of jazz and some classical music in the mix. There is a bit of Bruce Springsteen added into it later, too. That’s just one piece of the whole hodge podge of mash up they include here. It’s a fun game to try to name all of them, so I won’t play spoiler here.
Side Two
Dirty Fingers This cut is a combination of Zappa’s “Dirty Love” and “Magic Fingers.” It’s closer to the source material without all the mashing of the other side. It still has some cool jazz and more built into it, though. While this is more faithful, it’s still not likely to be mistaken for Frank Zappa.
