10 cc

Live in Concert DVD

Review by Gary Hill

10 cc were always an awesome band. I never knew all of the talent inside the group, though, So, I was surprised to see this concert feature a number of Graham Gouldman’s songs he wrote for groups like The Yardbirds, Herman’s Hermits and the Hollies. That little section was like the icing on the cake to me. The 10 cc tunes were classic and it’s amazing how well they can play this stuff live. The musicianship is great, but the vocal harmonies are even better. Songs that seemed like “studio only” creations are reproduced flawlessly in the live setting. If you’ve ever liked the band (and who doesn’t really?) check this thing out. It’s great! Not everything these guys do is prog, but I think they belong under that heading.
