The Moody Blues

Classic Artists DVD

Review by Gary Hill

There is certainly more to like about this documentary than there is to dislike. It features up to date interviews with most of the Moody Blues and details the band’s history. There are interviews with a few people who were more on the periphery of the band, too. All in all, this is quite detailed and informative and highly recommended. The downsides include a lack of live footage, no older interviews with the band members and the lack of participation by Patrick Moraz. This really is quite an impressive documentary however you slice it, though.

This review is available in book format (hardcover and paperback) in Music Street Journal: 2011  Volume 4 at lulu.com/strangesound.
