Steve Morse

Band – Live in Baden – Baden Germany March 1990 DVD

Review by Gary Hill

This is a reissue of the classic Steve Morse Band performance from 1990. Originally broadcast on German television, this smoking set features Morse along with David LaRue and Van Romaine going through a number of classic Dregs songs along with material from Morse's first couple solo albums. The performances are top notch. The show is captured in great video and audio preserving a killer concert from this guitar hero. While much of the material here has a bit of a country twang, there is still plenty of fusion fire to be found. This show by itself would be well worth the price of admission, but you also get a bnus of a short show from '84 with Jerry Peek and Rod Morgenstein accompanying Morse. The one-two punch of these shows is purely unbeatable and should appeal to Morse fans, Dregs aficionados and anyone who enjoys killer fusion.
