Godsmack

Live-Ozzfest 1999, East Troy, WI

Review by Gary Hill

This hard rocking outfit very nearly stole the show from everyone at Ozzfest. Their angry and powerful brand of metal translates very well to the live venue. Their sound was a nearly flawless adaptation of the band’s studio sound. Although a bit rawer and less polished, it really worked well. The band gave a high-energy performance which showcased the considerable talents of all the members and really captivated the audience. The only real down side to their show was that being an opener on Ozzfest, they didn’t get nearly enough time to play. If you are a fan of hard rock, look for this band live whenever you get the chance. They will certainly not disappoint.
