Alice Cooper
Live In Milwaukee, August 7, 2000

As the Cooper show began, a large, robotic presence was seen on the stage. He told us of his quest to destroy Alice Cooper and his evil. As he finished, he warned us to run before it was too late. I didn't take his warning and instead faced the destruction that Mr. Cooper had planned for us all.
I had seen Cooper several times on recent tours, but nothing had prepared me for this. The show was an absolute dark and violent extravaganza that showed Alice take the whip from a dominatrix, strangle a nurse, get beheaded, and come back from this death. We even got an appearance from Bill and Hillary. Oh, did I mention there was also music? And what music it was. Cooper performed the majority of his phenomenal new Brutal Planet disc. This set list was augmented by some of the high points from the master's considerable back catalog. Among these cuts were "Go To Hell", "It's Hot", "School's Out" and "Elected". The band even went through a medley of Coop classics without Alice while the makeup-ed one was still headless. The concert also included Coop's take on the Who's "My Generation". Alice interacted with the audience quite a bit. During the song "The Little Things", he singled out one man in the audience. After telling us about his "bad day" he said that he could deal with that, but then he came to the show and saw this guy in the front row with a Kiss shirt on. That did him in, cause it's the little things.
After the show was over, the effect on the audience was hard to fathom. It looked like a scene after a disaster, people wandering aimlessly around, in a daze. The Alice Cooper phenomenon had done us in. Perhaps we should have heeded the warning, but I am glad that I didn't.
