Valentine in my Headphones (digital single)

Review by Gary Hill

There is a definite 80s pop vibe to this piece. It’s high energy and very catchy.

This review is available in book format (hardcover and paperback) in Music Street Journal: 2016  Volume 2 at lulu.com/strangesound.

Valentine in my Headphones

If there is one complaint to be made, it’s the repetiveness of the later sections of the piece. Sure, hit singles and usually repetitive, but this goes a little overboard. It probably would be stronger with a few less title lines repeated or if it were shortened a little. All that said, though, it’s a small quibble, as this is very strong.

(Editor's Note - Music Street Journal is set up for the allocation of albums, not singles - particularly not one-song singles. So, in the instances, like this one, where we've covered single song releases, we've had to make some adaptations for formatting. In the case of this one, just imagine both track review and overall review reading as one set of copy. )
