Bob Dylan

And the Band - Down In The Flood

Review by Gary Hill

This documentary is pretty interesting. Looking back at the whole thing with Dylan working with The Band, it’s easy to forget all the controversy involved. We live in a world now that sees different musical styles merging frequently, but when Bob Dylan went from folk music to rock, it was a really big deal. He ticked off a lot of people. This documentary goes into great detail about the entire process of Dylan and The Band coming together and what it meant to music from a cross-cultural point of view. It’s fascinating stuff with a lot of great interview segments and clips.

This review is available in book format (hardcover and paperback) in Music Street Journal: 2012  Volume 5 at lulu.com/strangesound.
