America’s Music Legacy – Rock N Roll DVD

Review by Gary Hill

You might think from looking at the cover and title of this DVD that it’s a documentary chronicling the history of rock and roll. That’s not what it is at all. Instead it’s a bunch of concert performances from many of the greats of that genre. Fabian, The Coasters and Leslie Gore and many others are featured. For my money (and many because of my particular tastes when it comes to rock and roll, the best performances come from Chubby Checker and Bo Diddley. However you slice it, though, this piece of rock and roll Americana is just plain cool.

This review is available in book format (hardcover and paperback) in Music Street Journal: 2010  Volume 6 at lulu.com/strangesound.
