Alice Cooper

Brutally Live DVD

Review by Gary Hill

Recorded in London on July 19, 2000, this is a great record of Alice's Brutal Planet tour and a killer concert video to boot. The show begins with a warning from the robotic "controller" to get away while you have the chance. Apparently no one made it, as the camera shows. Cooper enters and stalks and rules the stage. He opens the show with "Brutal Planet", stomping through the cut. This is a very well shot video and indeed the DVD includes several tracks that have alternate camera angles. It's all here, the guillotine, the straight jacket, the resurrection. We even get to see a drum solo with flaming drumsticks. The DVD includes the video to "Gimme" which reveals even more clearly that the one singing the song is the devil. This video is a great bonus.
