Musikladen Live DVD

Review by Gary Hill

This DVD is rather a mixed bag. I t does contain some considerably rare footage of the group, and therefore scores points on that basis. However, it definitely looses a lot of points on other fronts. First, the DVD is very short - about 19 minutes long. That means at the usual going rate expect to pay about a dollar a minute. Second, the "All Good People" cut only includes the latter half of the song. Add in the rather weird psychedelic effects that probably looked really cutting edge at the time, but come across as just plain silly, and you have most of the down side. Still for the serious Yes collector, having a video recording of Peter Banks era Yes and two of the "The Yes Album" period group - two lineups not as well chronicled as others - does make the video a bit more appealing.
