Lamb of God
Live in Milwaukee, WI, July 2006

First of all, I want to shake the hand of the tour managers and promotional people who teamed these two bands (Lamb of God and Slayer) together, as I don't think there is anyone more fitting to open up for Slayer than these guys. I'm a people person, so I like to take a few laps around the venue, as many people also do, and I bumped into several fans wearing L.O.G. shirts. As the band came onto the stage, their presence was definitely recognized. As they opened with the first song, the crowd went into a frenzy as the mosh-pit instantly formed. That pit continued through the last note they played. Their reputation most certainly preceded them, as they almost instantly took command of the crowd. I've been a fan of these guys for a couple of years, and am disappointed in myself that it has taken me this long to see them, as I was very impressed at how they sounded. Another true test of any band is how they sound live. I recognized several of my best-liked songs off the albums that I have in my archives; Killadelphia, Ashes Of The Wake and As The Palaces Burn. I highly recommend all three of those discs.
