Gilbert Lee Magic through the Static Review by Gary Hill This is quite an intriguing set. More than anything else, it falls in the neighborhood of modern pop rock, but it actually leans toward modern progressive rock a lot of the time. There is plenty of folk music, roots sounds and other elements at play here. All in all, this is an effective set of catchy tunes. Track by Track Review

Colored by the Stars The arrangement on the first part of this is both minimalist and lush in an odd sort of way. The cut shifts out to more of a full treatment from there. This is a bouncy kind of pop rocker that's classy. It makes me think of The Beatles a bit, but is more modern.

Dial Me Up A dreamy, trippy kind of arrangement is the main basis of this. There is still some of that Beatles thing on hand, though.

Buzzing in Stereo A percussive based number, there is a real roots music element to this cut. It's a bouncy and fun piece. While this isn't really my kind of thing, I like it a lot. In fact, it might be my favorite tune of the whole set.

The Ghost on the Radio European cafe music, jazz and more are in the mix on this number. It's an effective cut with a good energy and flow to it.

All Connections Go Roots music and dream pop seem to merge on this cool understated tune.

The Simple Present This is not a big change of any kind. Instead, it's another cool pop rock cut that's quite effective. It does have a bit of a jazzy angle to it.

Carnival Soul Musically this reminds me of Sadé, just a bit. It's a classy mellow piece of music. It work out to some dreamy stuff with bits of jazz in the mix.
