Eagle I Stallian

Reminiscence EP

Review by Gary Hill
Reviewing something like this isn't exactly the easiest thing. Nor does it make a large amount of sense. This is definitely electronic house music. It's meant to be played for dancing. This isn't the kind of thing one listens to, really. As what it is, both of these songs are effective.

Track by Track Review
Origin

This is an energized and powerful piece of electronic dance music. It's not breaking any musical boundaries, but when it's this good, it really doesn't matter. I absolutely love the slow melodic movement past the mid-point of this. Piano works quite well on that segment. This piece is just over six minutes in length. It could be argued that it would be a stronger composition if it were a bit shorter. That said, this is the kind of thing best appreciated on the dance floor of a club, so take that with a grain of salt. There is a false ending with a rhythmically based reprise at the end. There is a dramatic, rather symphonic bit at the end that works quite well.

Crossing Over
Starting rhythmically, this cut is over seven minutes long. It works out to something similar to the other song. I mean, this kind of electronic dance music isn't the most diverse type of sound. Still, this works pretty well, too. This also includes a mellow drop back that features prominent piano. I'd say that this one is more evocative and more effective than the one on the other piece.
